Adrienne, Richard, and Maggie are one of my favourite stories. Adrienne and Richard despaired of being able to walk with Maggie at heel on a loose-leash collar until they adopted a Canine Solutions Dog Training plan.
Maggie is our spirited Golden Doodle puppy who loves everyone and everything! Last fall, we were dealing with many puppy issues including recall and walking (she was walking us, instead of us walking her!). My husband, in fact, had all but give up walking her because she was so difficult to manage. I had tried Puppy classes, but the other dogs in the class were small and calm- quite the opposite of our pup! I first met Drew while walking in our neighborhood with Maggie. Drew was with a client on a training walk. My first impression was that he had an extremely gentle manner and calm voice. The dog he was training was walking calmly towards Maggie – who was a bundle of beans, pulling and jumping with excitement. As they approached to practice “greet”, I overheard Drew say to his client, “Now when you are about to come in contact with a very excited dog who is a little out of control, you need to be careful to… “. I felt very discouraged. After they walked away, I thought to myself, “Maybe this happened for a reason.” So, I ran back and asked Drew for his card. Since then, we have had the pleasure of working with Drew for the last 3 months and what a huge difference he has made! My husband and I have learned so much – simple strategies that really work! Drew is very skilled at breaking things down, explaining the why’s and how’s of all the skills he introduces. He models, gives excellent feedback and is extremely positive. It is a joy to watch someone who is so good at what they do! I am so grateful to Drew for all he did to help us. Maggie is so much easier to manage; walks are enjoyable rather than stressful; she is learning how to socialize more calmly, and her recall has improved so much. We can’t thank Drew enough! I highly recommend Canine Solutions to anyone who needs help with their dog! Maggie loves Drew and so do we!
